9 year old Austin Douglas's Christmas card design is on its way to thousands of homes right across the Cheadle Parliamentary constituency after winning local MP Mark Hunter's annual Christmas card competition. The successful design now features on the card currently being delivered to every home in the area by the Lib Dem team.

On Friday, 9th December 2011, Mark visited Oakgrove School, Heald Green to present Austin with a special House of Commons Prize in assembly and congratulate him on his colourful card design.

All primary schools in the constituency were invited to participate and every child that took part received a special certificate of commendation to congratulate them on their entry.

Commenting, Mark said:

"Austin's smashing card design was chosen because of its colourfulness and cheerfulness.

"It was a really tough decision, with so many excellent designs to choose from our youngsters. Once again, their creative talents did them all proud.

"I was delighted that we had such a strong entry again this year with many local primary schools joining in. As ever, it was very difficult to choose an overall winner and I thank all the schools for helping to make this task so tough! Merry Christmas to all the boys and girls."

If you are a resident of the Cheadle constituency and are writing to discuss any issue that Parliament or government is responsible for, you must provide your home address as MPs are generally only permitted to act on behalf of constituents.

If you are not a constituent, you do not need to provide your address, but the matters we can deal with are more limited and you may wish to contact your local MP in the first instance.
