CHRISTMAS CELEBRATIONS BEGIN ACROSS CHEADLE

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Christmas celebrations started early for local MP Mark Hunter as he was a special guest at two key annual events, launching Christmas festivities across the area - "Light up Bramhall 2011" and the Poynton Band Christmas Concert in Heald Green.

On Thursday evening (1st December) Mr Hunter joined with local councillors outside Bramhall Methodist Church to turn on the Christmas Lights and launch the Bramhall Christmas festive season. Special guest Kirsty Howard turned on the lights outside the Church at 6.15pm before the entire village centre lit up later in the hour.

Sunday evening saw The Vernon Building Society (Poynton) Brass Band perform their annual concert at the Heald Green Village Hall on Outwood Road. The local MP was put to good use as he led the prize raffle wearing a Santa hat - in true Christmas spirit!

Commenting, Mark said:

"It was a pleasure to welcome in the Christmas season with these two special annual occasions which are key fixtures on the community calendar.

"Yet again both events were very successful and it was great to see so many people enjoying themselves and soaking up the Christmas spirit.

"Thanks to the organisers of both events who have yet again created such memorable occasions for families across the area."

If you are a resident of the Cheadle constituency and are writing to discuss any issue that Parliament or government is responsible for, you must provide your home address as MPs are generally only permitted to act on behalf of constituents.

If you are not a constituent, you do not need to provide your address, but the matters we can deal with are more limited and you may wish to contact your local MP in the first instance.
