Local MP Mark Hunter today urged Cheadle Hulme residents to have their say on plans to build a new retirement home by the station car park.

The proposed McCarthy & Stone development will replace Alliance House, near the car park, and will be close to some properties on Blenheim Road. It will include 68 one and two bedroom retirement units, 24 car parking spaces and communal facilities.

Mark Hunter attended the consultation meeting along with local councillors Paul Porgess, Lenny Grice and Iain Roberts.

Speaking after the visit, Mark said:

""Developments of this sort have the potential to enhance communities and provide much-needed housing, but can also cause problems, so it's important to get it right, and that means local residents who know the area having their say.

"I'm pleased that McCarthy & Stone organised a public consultation prior to the application being submitted."
