Last Sunday 4th July the annual Gatley Festival was packed out with families from across the area and hosted dozens of stalls, a fairground and many other attractions. Local MP Mark Hunter paid tribute to the organisers as he joined the crowds on Sunday afternoon.

Many local community groups were in attendance, alongside Greater Manchester Police, Greater Manchester Fire Service and the University of South Manchester (Wythenshawe) Hospital Bus.

Mr Hunter toured the festival, spoke to many representatives of local groups and even found time to help with the tombola!

Commenting, Mark said:

"For the third week running I have been delighted to support an exceptionally well-organised and well-run local Festival in our community.

"At this time of year there are many such events, planned by schools and community groups, and they all contribute to making this area such a great place to live and work.

"We are lucky to have so many events like this which present an all too rare opportunity for whole communities to come together.

"I pay tribute and say 'thanks' to all involved in putting on these events, which can take a lot of effort by volunteers to ensure they are successful and raise plenty of money for local charities."

If you are a resident of the Cheadle constituency and are writing to discuss any issue that Parliament or government is responsible for, you must provide your home address as MPs are generally only permitted to act on behalf of constituents.

If you are not a constituent, you do not need to provide your address, but the matters we can deal with are more limited and you may wish to contact your local MP in the first instance.
