Cheadle MP Mark Hunter, this Saturday (5th September) attended the Cheadle Hulme Flower Show, in the Parish Rooms in Cheadle Hulme, as their special guest.

The Cheadle Hulme Flower Show is in its 50th year this year and show itself was an extra special occasion to celebrate the half-centenary. After opening the show last year, Mr Hunter and his wife Lesley spent the afternoon in the packed hall. As well as keenly contested prizes for the best vegetables and flowers, there were also prizes for photography, painting, homemade cakes, preserves and other produce.

Commenting after the event Mr Hunter said, "It was an honour to be invited back, after opening the show last year, as a guest of this special 50th anniversary Cheadle Hulme Flower Show. The show continues to be as popular as ever, with people coming from across the community to see the flowers and vegetables grown by the local residents.

"Lesley and I always enjoy this event, which is very much looked forward to by many in our community. It was an absolute pleasure to see the Parish Rooms bursting with people attending the 50th Anniversary of this important local date. I'm absolutely sure the Cheadle Hulme Flower show will be around in 50 more years - still going strong."
