Cllr Keith Whitmore, the new Chair of the Greater Manchester Integrated Transport Authority (GMITA) will be attending the next meeting of the Cheadle and District Rail User Group to answer questions from members of the public about public transport issues.

Following the success of the initial meetings of the new Cheadle and District Rail User Group (CDRUG), local MP Mark Hunter has been able to secure Cllr Whitmore the new Chair of the GMITA as a special guest for this week's meeting and to answer questions from the public at the next meeting this Thursday (23rd July).

The meeting, which is open to all members of the public, will take place in the Small Hall at the Parish Rooms on Church Road in Cheadle Hulme (SK8 7JB) at 7pm.

Commenting in advance Mr Hunter said, "I'm delighted that Cllr Whitmore will be able to join us for this meeting. It will be a great opportunity for local people to have their questions about local rail services and stations answered by one of the leading policy makers on local transport issues. I would really encourage anyone with a particular interest to come along, whether they are commuters, regular or only occasional rail users for what will be a unique chance to ask their questions and make their views known to the Chair of our local transport authority."

If you are a resident of the Cheadle constituency and are writing to discuss any issue that Parliament or government is responsible for, you must provide your home address as MPs are generally only permitted to act on behalf of constituents.

If you are not a constituent, you do not need to provide your address, but the matters we can deal with are more limited and you may wish to contact your local MP in the first instance.
