Cheadle constituency MP, Mark Hunter, wore red on 11th February to support National Heart Month.

The British Heart Foundation (BHF) launched its new Red for Heart campaign as part of National Heart Month this February. The BHF is asking people to raise money to help fight the UK's biggest killer - heart and circulatory disease by wearing red to work on Friday 13th February¹. Mr Hunter showed his support by wearing red this week, following a request from BHF for MPs to wear red to demonstrate their backing for the campaign.

Mr Hunter said: "Heart disease is the UK's biggest killer with someone dying from a heart attack every 6 minutes and 2.5 million people in the UK living with coronary heart disease¹. By wearing red, for a suggested donation of £1, you will help the BHF save lives through pioneering research, patient care, campaigning for change and by providing vital information.

"You can also get together with your local community or local school and run a Red for Heart fundraiser - you can hold a red fancy dress part, a red bake sale or a fit-as-many-people-into-a-red-telephone-box stunt. Whatever you decide to do this month you can make a real difference and support the British Heart Foundation."

Jackie Skeel, Head of National Campaigns at the British Heart Foundation, said: "Thanks to Mark Hunter MP for going Red for Heart. Everyone can get involved with the campaign so please encourage your colleagues or friends to take part and help the BHF make a real difference."

If you are a resident of the Cheadle constituency and are writing to discuss any issue that Parliament or government is responsible for, you must provide your home address as MPs are generally only permitted to act on behalf of constituents.

If you are not a constituent, you do not need to provide your address, but the matters we can deal with are more limited and you may wish to contact your local MP in the first instance.
