Adidas are consolidating their investment in our area

Cheadle constituency MP, Mark Hunter, has today welcomed the announcement that Reebok's UK-based operation in Bolton will be merging with Adidas UK's head office in Stockport.

Reebok has confirmed that approximately 160 Reebok employees will be integrating into the Adidas office on the Pepper Road Estate in Hazel Grove, and that they will close the Reebok's Bolton office by the end of 2009.

Commenting on the news Mr Hunter said, "The consolidation of the Reebok/Adidas operation into our local site is good news for local people, as it will safeguard local jobs for the future. A large multi-national company strengthening its position in Hazel Grove will be beneficial to the local economy and is particularly encouraging in the current economic environment.

"Having visited the company and spoken with them before, I know they were very optimistic about the future and this was obviously well founded - it's great to see such an internationally renowned brand as Adidas/Reebok investing in our local area and continuing to be successful despite the recession.

"It's a credit to the area that we can continue to attract big name companies like Adidas and Reebok to invest in our local economy in Stockport and I wish the business the best of luck for the future."
