Mark was inducted as a honorary member of the Bramhall and Woodford Rotary Club

Cheadle MP Mark Hunter was last week inducted as an honorary member of the Rotary Club of Bramhall and Woodford last Wednesday (22nd August) during their regular monthly dinner at the Ladybridge Park Residents Club in Cheadle Hulme. Mark had been invited to join by Gordon Jackson, President of the Club in 2006/7 and was formally presented with this Rotary pin badge on the night by new President Geoff Hunt of Bramhall.

Rotary International is a global organisation which includes business and professional leaders. It aims to encourage and foster the ideal of service in all aspects of a Rotarian's life. It provides humanitarian services and encourages high ethical standards in all vocations. Rotary International also helps to build international understanding, goodwill and peace in the world through its work. There are about 1.2 million Rotarians and 32,000 clubs in more than 200 countries.

Speaking afterwards Mark Hunter said: "I was delighted to be asked to join the Bramhall and Woodford Rotary Club as a honorary member and I consider it to be an honour to be invited to become part of the Rotary family. I am well aware of the very important work carried out by Rotary International in raising funds for all kinds of good causes and I am keen to help the local branch in their efforts as and when I can.

Gordon Jackson said: "We are very pleased to have Mark as a member, and although we appreciate he's a busy man it will be good to have our local MP involved in our activities."

If you are a resident of the Cheadle constituency and are writing to discuss any issue that Parliament or government is responsible for, you must provide your home address as MPs are generally only permitted to act on behalf of constituents.

If you are not a constituent, you do not need to provide your address, but the matters we can deal with are more limited and you may wish to contact your local MP in the first instance.
