Mark Welcomes the Samantha Dickson Brain Tumour Trust to Bramhall

Mark meets SDBTT representative Katie Sheen
Mark Hunter - Member of Parliament for the Cheadle Constituency - paid a visit on Friday to the Samantha Dickson Brain Tumour Trust's (SDBTT) new regional office in Bramhall to hear about their up-coming national campaigns.
The Samantha Dickson Brain Tumour Trust (SDBTT) was set up in 1996 by the parents' of Samantha Dickson who died of a brain tumour aged 16. It is now the largest single funder of brain tumour research in the UK and also provides support services to patients, carers, friends and relatives of those who affected by brain tumours.
On Friday, Mark met with local resident Katie Sheen, who runs the SDBTT in the north of England from their office in Bramhall. Katie brought Mark up to date with the work of the largest brain tumour charity in the UK. The SDBTT are just about to launch "Sam's nationwide tea party campaign" encouraging supporters to hold tea parties to raise funds for their research work. The official launch party is happening this week in London's Dorchester Hotel. The launch party will be followed up by a House of Commons' reception which Mark will be attending.
Said Mark: "I was delighted to visit the trust in their new office and officially welcome them to the area. The trust does fantastic work in raising money and awareness of a cancer that does not receive enough attention or its fair share of funding. This is astonishing given that some 4,500 adults are diagnosed with primary brain tumours every year and that more children die from brain tumours than meningitis.
