Mark visits Greenbank school

Mark goes back to school

Cheadle M.P. Mark Hunter got behind a primary school desk as he visited Greenbank School to talk to the children about the rights and responsibilities of citizenship. Before his life at Westminster, Mark Hunter was Stockport MBC¹s Chair of Education for three years ultimately becoming the Liberal Democrat Council Leader and as such believes it is important that as an M.P. he continues to monitor the work of local schools.

Mark said: "Visiting local schools is one of the most enjoyable aspects of my work and it essential that as an M.P., I continue to get a first hand look at what real teachers are actually doing to help the youngest member of our community."

He added: "I was most impressed by what I saw at Greenbank; happy, hard-working children fully engaged in their class work and brim full of natural curiosity and inventiveness."

The Headmaster of the independent primary school on Heathbank Road, Cheadle Hulme, Mr. Kevin Phillips, said: "We were delighted to welcome Mr Hunter. It is important that children learn about the workings of our democracy at as early age as possible and understand and respect the core values of citizenship."

If you are a resident of the Cheadle constituency and are writing to discuss any issue that Parliament or government is responsible for, you must provide your home address as MPs are generally only permitted to act on behalf of constituents.

If you are not a constituent, you do not need to provide your address, but the matters we can deal with are more limited and you may wish to contact your local MP in the first instance.
