Under Mark's leadership, our local Council has the best recycling record of any Metropolitan Council in the country.

Under Mark's leadership, our local Council has the best recycling record of any Metropolitan Council in the country.

THE NEWS that the local Lib Dem run Council has the best recycling record for a Metropolitan Borough in the country has been welcomed by local residents. But better recycling is just one of the initiatives from the Council under the leadership of Mark Hunter.

Other actions include new measures to tackle infill development and 'Operation Spring Clean' to tidy up our streets. The Council has also won a Britain in Bloom award and recently designated two areas of Bramhall as conservation areas.

Cllr Mark Hunter said, "Our area is special and we want to keep it that way. We want local people to take real pride in living here."

Mark and local Lib Dems are not resting on their achievements and are working at new ways to improve our green record.

An MP who will fight for our environment

If elected to be our new local MP, Mark Hunter will use his local experience to fight for our environment on a national stage. Mark Hunter said, "We have already achieved a good deal locally, but big issues like climate change are decided at a national and often international level. As our local MP, I will fight to protect our environment at all levels."

Lib Dem green policies praised

The recent Lib Dem General Election manifesto was welcomed by leading environmentalists.

Director of Friends of the Earth Tony Juniper said, "The Lib Dems have produced the greenest manifesto of the major political parties at Westminster." .

If you are a resident of the Cheadle constituency and are writing to discuss any issue that Parliament or government is responsible for, you must provide your home address as MPs are generally only permitted to act on behalf of constituents.

If you are not a constituent, you do not need to provide your address, but the matters we can deal with are more limited and you may wish to contact your local MP in the first instance.
