Cheadle Hulme Lib Dem Councillors Stuart Bodsworth, Suzanne Wyatt and Ingrid Shaw have demanded that action is taken against developers as many pavements are damaged during work on building sites.

The council's planning rules are now to be altered and the applicant is to be made responsible for pavement repairs after the building work is finished. This should make the pavements safer and also save the council tax payer a lot of money.

Recently a pavement of a local street was broken up by a lorry driving over it. The cost of repairs falls on us, the council tax payers. That money will be wasted if vehicles continue to drive over pavements. If you see a goods vehicle drive over a pavement, please take its registration number and note the date and time, then let us know.

If you are a resident of the Cheadle constituency and are writing to discuss any issue that Parliament or government is responsible for, you must provide your home address as MPs are generally only permitted to act on behalf of constituents.

If you are not a constituent, you do not need to provide your address, but the matters we can deal with are more limited and you may wish to contact your local MP in the first instance.
