To celebrate the launch of Carers Week, 10-16 June 2013, local MP, Mark Hunter has joined forces with actress Lynda Bellingham, to recognise the contribution that carers across the Cheadle parliamentary constituency make on a daily basis.
At a special event in Westminster, Mark pledged his support to carers as part of the national awareness campaign, Carers Week. The week is an opportunity to celebrate the 6.5 million carers across the UK and raise awareness of the impact that caring has on people's lives.

Local MP Mark Hunter spent Sunday afternoon (12th May) celebrating 60 years of the MS Society charity with local residents at Cheadle Hulme Methodist Church.
Mark, who was a special guest at the event, met with the team of volunteers of the Stockport and South East Manchester Branch and joined them for afternoon tea to raise funds for the charity.

Last Friday 10th May local MP Mark Hunter officially re-opened the newly refurbished Bramhall Post Office on Maple Road in the village centre.
Alongside store owner Shamil Hudda, and Alan Currie (Area Manager for Post Office Limited Network Transformation in the North West), Mr Hunter cut the ribbon to mark the beginning of a new era for the busy Post Office.

Mark Hunter, MP for Cheadle, has called on local schools to take part in My Money Week (3 to 9 June), giving pupils the chance to learn more about money and personal finance. Every primary and secondary school in Cheadle is being given the chance to take part for free in My Money Week, which has returned for its fifth year thanks to a new partnership between national charity pfeg (Personal Finance Education Group) and Barclays.

Local MP, Mark Hunter, visited the Together Trust services, WaTT and SK30+ today (3rd May) to discover more about the charity and its services. During his visit, Mark met with service users and staff to see firsthand the benefits the Together Trust has on the lives of young people and adults with physical and learning disabilities, as well as autistic spectrum conditions.

Stockport Council has approved a landmark armed forces "community covenant" which seeks to establish a commitment of care to service personnel, their families and veterans. Local MP Mark Hunter has welcomed the news after campaigning for the covenant in Parliament.
A Community Covenant is a voluntary statement of mutual support between a civilian community and its local armed forces community. It is intended to compliment the national Armed Forces covenant, written into law in 2011, which outlined the moral obligation between the nation, the government and the armed forces at a local level.

Local MP Mark Hunter is calling on parents across the area to check for warning signs of possible heart problems experienced by their children and follow life-saving guidance issued by the UK's leading children's heart charity.
Mark is supporting 'Think HEART' the Children's Heart Federation which aims to increase early diagnosis of children's heart conditions.

Local MP Mark Hunter has welcomed Stockport Council's announced £5 million boost to tackle much needed repairs to Stockport's roads, pavements, street lights, and drainage.
Over £3 million will be spent on fixing roads and pavements, half a million pounds will be spent on fixing street lights, nearly £1 million will be spent on drainage projects and over £300,000 on footpaths and bridleways in 2013-14.

543 toddlers from less well-off families in the Stockport Borough are to benefit from 15 hours free childcare a week from this September, an investment of £2,821 per child.
This is in addition to the £100m investment in capital spending for additional nursery places announced by Liberal Democrat Leader and Deputy Prime Minster, Nick Clegg, last year.
